We Are The World – So Let’s Start Giving
We received an e-mail today from a dear friend and we want to share her gift with you–the gift of inspiration. Thanks Dale!
Since we in the United States celebrate the Fourth of July as our Independence Day–we thought it would also be an excellent time to celebrate all that we are blessed with, and to consider all that we could be giving to others who don’t have as much. Kind of an [tag-tec]Interdependence[/tag-tec] Day.
WE Are The World!
We Are The World by USA For Africa
Written by Michael Jackson & Lionel Richie
We thought you might also enjoy having the lyrics. . .
“We Are The World”, U.S.A. for Africa
There comes a time when we need a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
Oh, and it’s time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all
We can’t go on pretending day by day
That someone, somehow will soon make a change
We’re all a part of God’s great big family
And the truth – you know love is all we need
( CHORUS )
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
so let’s start giving
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me
Well, send’em you your heart
So they know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us
By turning stone to bread
And so we all must lend a helping hand
( REPEAT CHORUS )
When you’re down and out
There seems no hope at all
But if you just believe
There’s no way we can fall
Well, well, well, let’s realize
That one change can only come
When we stand together as one
( REPEAT CHORUS AND FADE )
We hope you enjoy your Interdependence Day Celebrations!

This reminds me of the reason why we are all here. What a powerful messages that still lives on today. Michael Jackson co-wrote this song with Lionel Richie and it is a reminder of what a beautiful soul Michael Jackson had and all the people who sang it with him. He truly made an impact on many hearts – so as everyone else has said “We are the world, so let’s continue to give of all we have to those less fortunate than we are, it is our destiny!” R.I.P Michael Jackson!

I love cultural diversity and its effect on the whole world. As an example, did you know that African Slaves and Native Americans influenced the dancing that you can see in many of the festivals in Bermuda. Isn’t that interesting? The dancers are called Gombey Dancers and they’re really colorful. How dull the world would be without all the different people in it. We need to support all cultures.

Wow this is a really great song. It seems full of love and life. It is a privilege to be one of God’s children and this song helps express that.
